Polyhexamethylene Guanidine (PHMG): This product is a polymeric biguanide compound that undergoes ionization in aqueous solution. Its hydrophilic moiety possesses a strong positive charge, enabling it to adsorb various bacteria and viruses-which typically carry a negative charge-and subsequently penetrate their cell membranes. By inhibiting the synthesis of liposomes within the membrane, it induces bacterial apoptosis, thereby achieving optimal bactericidal efficacy.

As a cationic polymer, this product exerts its antimicrobial effect primarily by dissolving lipids and altering the permeability of bacterial cell membranes, thereby disrupting intracellular metabolic processes. It possesses a broad antimicrobial spectrum, demonstrating efficacy against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and molds. Furthermore, it is characterized by being colorless, odorless, non-irritating to the skin, non-toxic, and non-corrosive.

Chlorhexidine Gluconate: This substance presents as a colorless or pale yellow, nearly transparent, and slightly viscous liquid; it is odorless or possesses a very faint odor. It is miscible with water and soluble in ethanol or acetone. Relative Density: 1.060–1.070 g/mL (at 25°C). Alternative Chinese names include: 1,6-bis(N1-p-chlorophenyl-N5-biguanido)hexane digluconate; Chlorhexidine Gluconate; Chlorhexidine Digluconate; and Chlorhexidine (20% w/v aqueous solution). Its primary application is as a disinfectant and antiseptic agent; it exhibits potent, broad-spectrum bacteriostatic and bactericidal activity, effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is indicated for external use in the disinfection of hands and skin, as well as for wound irrigation.
